What Can Happen In a Month (2010)

What Can Happen In a Month (2010)"I am not insane," Paul replied. "What I am saying is true and reasonable." ...Then King Agrippa said to Paul, "Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?" And Paul replied, "Short time or long - I pray to God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am."
Acts 26:25-29

The month of October is an exciting time for the Campus Ministry for the London Church of Christ! It is a time of welcoming back our long lost student members who are returning from their summer holidays, and also a time of meeting new friends as the universities teem with life again. We spent the month of September preparing for the craziness of the term by getting to know each other with devotionals, workshops and a day at Thorpe Park. It has been a lot of fun and family-building!

Now that October is here, God has been blessing our efforts to meet people and get them involved in our bible studies - we collected the contacts of over 100 people who are interested in the ministry! Our fellowship events have seen an average of 15 visitors each Friday, and our Sunday services with the Central London Region have been the biggest they've ever been. Praise God for "bringing to fruition every deed prompted by faith" (2 Thess 1:11)!!

Now is the hard part - helping them become disciples. Jesus didn't say "Go make visitors of all nations." Following up with people, building friendships, meeting their needs, and studying the bible with them is all necessary to making disciples and teaching them to obey everything Jesus commanded. Please pray for us as we "labour and struggle" (Colossians 1:29) because we know we can't do it on our own strength. We trust that God's spirit is moving and doing all the hard work for us! To Him be the glory!
