Shine 2011
 Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.
See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples,

In March, all the campus ministries across Great Britain came gathered together for our Spring Student Retreat!! God blessed us with a fantastic weekend of fellowship, lessons, singing and dancing in the beautiful Frontier Centre in Northamptonshire.
We arrived on Saturday morning and after eating lunch we had our opening worship session, led by Alex Mankoo, followed by good news sharing from all over England and Scotland! There had been 5 more students baptised since the last retreat, and 3 new dating relationships! What’s more, we saw that our group had grown to 65, with visitors and all... God truly has been building up his kingdom on the campuses across the UK! It’s bitter-sweet but we won’t be able to fit in the Frontier Centre next autumn!
Afterward the good news sharing we spent time hearing a bible lesson from Mohan - called “Living in the Light” - followed by convicting discussion groups and then joyful fellowship the rest of the afternoon. After dinner Andy gave us an inspiring lesson called “Jesus: the Light of the World” where he reminded us of the basis of discipleship: the response to Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. We spent the evening “partying like it’s1959” with our 50’s Disco! Carolina did a great job organising a night of fun and dancing, and then retreated to the bonfire to praise God with our voices.
Sunday morning brought us a great worship service, with Chen giving the communion message and CJ doing the final lesson: “Shine.” He spurred us on towards being a light on our campus to help others see Jesus. Truly, judging from the response of the group, it was one of the best lessons we’ve heard at our retreats! We left feeling challenged and inspired to imitate Jesus’ Light in our day-to-day lives.
We are very grateful to see God building his student ministries throughout the British Isles! It left me feeling “How can the next autumn retreat top this one!” but I’m sure God will show us how! I cant wait for that time, but we don’t have to wait till then to see each other... because we also have the ICMC happening in July! That’ll be great to see our European brothers and sisters join us for another weekend of equipping and spurring on... and of course awesome fellowship. And to God be the glory!
