FUNDRAISING for HOPE YOUTH CORPS GLASGOW participants 2016
 Brothers and Sisters,
HYC will be in Glasgow, Scotland for the first time this year!! It takes place from 15 to 29 June. Three of our number will be serving and working there with our church of 20 disciples. They are clockwise from left in the photo: Algirdas Miliūnas (Birmingham), Dara Olusegun (London Southeast) and Douglas Alonge (London Four Rivers). It is a fantastic opportunity and they are very eager to go.
Algirdas is a first-year computer science student at the University of Birmingham. He was baptised into Christ a few months ago and is very excited about the opportunity to serve in an inner city community in Glasgow this summer, alongside other committed disciples from around the world. He dreams to return to his home country of Lithuania to work in his field and make an impact for God there.
Dara is 16 years old and is at present studying hard for his GCSEs before going on to 6th Form in September. He is an Arsenal fan and FIFA pro.
Douglas is currently doing an undergraduate degree in Economics at Birkbeck College, University of London. "Scotland is close to my heart and doing the Glasgow HYC would be a priceless experience to make a difference nearer to home."
The programme is two weeks long and packed full with activities including sharing their faith, partnering with a local community organisation in one of the poorest areas to transform a patch of urban wasteland to a usable space for a local school and training daily in practical Bible classes. They are each raising funds to cover their expenses and have earnestly been doing so since being selected. Please can you help them reach their goal by sponsoring then with a one-of donation!!!
