Manchester Church Celebrates 25th Anniversary

Manchester Church Celebrates 25th Anniversary“Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens! Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals!” Psalm 150
And that's exactly what the congregation of the Manchester International Church of Christ did! We rejoiced. Our 25th anniversary service was a service to remember.

Our recently re-vamped venue revealed the many skills and hard work of our brothers and sisters who took part in painting the walls, creating photographic artwork and scriptural based art, adorning our walls and reminding us of the wonderful God we serve, all adding to the sense of festive celebration.

The stage sparkled with decoration as our talented band and joyful song leaders led us in an array of uplifting worship songs, covering many styles and including a new and upbeat reggae rendition of a hymn, led by Bruce Miller.

We were blessed to have a special guest speaker, Malcolm Cox who preached a message on God's love and how He lavishes His love onto us.

We were also encouraged to see some dearly loved old friends, and brothers and sisters from Leeds, London and elsewhere whom we had not seen in a while and it was incredibly special to worship together as a family.

The Manchester church enjoys a strong identity and history; we are family-orientated and bonded in love by God’s Grace.

Throughout the Bible, God directs us to remember Him and His good works. We want to remember how God has worked in our lives.

After the service we all enjoyed a special buffet that we all contributed to; a delicious array of jerk chicken, jollof rice, quiche, bolognese, cakes, Sue Anti's famous and much loved homemade scones and a whole host of other delectable treats, all reflecting the richness of cultures and backgrounds within the Manchester church.

There was a clear buzz in the air as we fellow-shipped with one another and our 25th anniversary service was an opportunity to draw closer together as a congregation and to celebrate God's faithfulness to our church.

We look forward to continuing in God’s lavish love as He guides, trains and grows us up in maturity to become more of a reflection of Him.
